CG update

I stopped at the community garden to drop off some flowers today on my way home from work. No pictures today as it was stormy and I didn't want to get camera wet. Thought when I got to the community garden I really wished I did bring it - I was greeted with 4 very cute baby groundhogs who were happily munching on some greens under the watchful eyes of their two very fat parents. That's right, the new community garden also houses a family of groundhogs. So really not sure just how much harvest anyone will be having in that place.

  1. We have had groundhogs at the community garden also. The guys usually take care of getting rid of them

    1. The woman who runs this garden has no intentions of getting rid of them - she thinks they're cute and likes that kids can feed them. oy.

    3. Robin - Thanks for the offer but I can't kill animals no matter how much damage they do. I was hoping she's let us set up traps and move them but she actually likes having them around.

  2. oh no! groundhogs are so cute, it's a shame they can do so much damage! my mom and stepdad's shed is about caved in because of a family of groundhogs that have been there for generations. it's right next to a big ol' pear tree they snack on, so i can't blame them! but yeah, they could be a problem there!

    1. These are also living under the tool shed. I just hope that they don't like peppers.

  3. That's too bad. I don't understand people refusing to get rid of rodents that are no good for anything and only cause damage.

  4. LOL, I know it is not funny but the way you described them munching and chilling I have this vision in my head that just makes me laugh. Yeah, I would have to come up with something to get rid of them, otherwise whats the point or trying.

    1. I know it does sound funny and they looked very relaxed and just happily munching away. I just don't want them to munch on anything I grow.
