June 1st Harvest - Lots of greens

Today I picked out some of the greens that we have in the large garden, because temperature outside supposed to get into mid-80's and I don't want them turn too bitter. I didn't cut all lettuces, just took some leaves out. I also thinned out some of the self seeded baby lettuces to give more space to others. Then I snipped few herbs like parsley, oregano, dill and thyme and few springs of chocolate mint for my coworker. Afterwards, in the small garden I picked some arugula, mustards and few leaves of kale.

  1. I probably should have done the same thing today. My lettuce is out in the heat. I hope it doesn't get too hot and make them all bitter. It would be so sad. I keep trying to get my successions going, but the last one I planted keeps getting mowed down by the cutworms.

    1. I still have lots of self-seeded that are going to be my replacements. I did cover them with agribon to keep it cooler and gave them plenty to drink last night, so hope it won't be too bad.

  2. Lots of good looking greens there! I love chocolate mint too. I'm having some ice green tea infused with it as I type.

    1. I love smell of chocolate mint and it's a bit softer than spearmint so i do use it in tea as well :) I also love to put few sprigs into bath instead of chemicals :)
