Father's Day Weekly Harvest summary

Since it's a Father's Day tomorrow I won't be around to do much blogging and we'll be going to visit my hubby's dad. So here are few things that were picked this week after last Monday post. You've already seen summary group shot but here it is again just because I love all the colors in it.
And then there are weights:
And red potatoes with peas that were also part of my dinner later in a week.

Lettuce and Spinach and Strawberries were not in original post but here they are anyway.
Mid week I picked more broccoli and kale and used broccoli for dinner mixed with other veggies from previous harvest.
And more peas were picked...
Then today I went to pick yet more peas - both shelling and sugar snap (that's why two plates in the picture), digged up more red potatoes, snapped some parsley, kale and broccoli and picked a handful of remaining strawberries and blueberries. Birds and squirrels are really helping us with fruit this year so not much left other than light snacking.
so here are their weights with peas coming over 1.5 lbs. I didn't bother with berries this time.
Potatoes came as heavyweights of course coming near 4 lbs today. There are only few bushes remain of the red ones, but this batch is going to my in-laws tomorrow.

  1. Beautiful, Jenny! I'll bet your in-laws are going to really enjoy those potatoes. I dug 4.5 pounds of them today for a potato salad for tomorrow, as the entire family will be here. The salad calls for 3 pounds, so the rest went into tonight's beef stew.

    1. Well we're going to their place for bbq for Father's day and since they already have 5 to feed I figured it would help to bring some fresh veggies. I'll dig up some white ones next week for my meals as I need to clear walkway between potatoes and tomatoes so that side of the bed will be first to go :)

  2. What a yummy mix of items you harvested this week. The produce all looks like it is very good quality too. The broccoli, peas, new potatoes, and strawberries are particularly nice and are all favorites of mine so they are very appealing to me.

    1. I'm glad you've enjoyed my pictures of the harvest and welcome to the blog! Potatoes are one of my staple foods so I always grow some, even if it's just to eat fresh and young. And they're very undemanding so not much work required. In two weeks I'll start diging for my purple and fingerlings so that should be fun :)
