New Freezer

We have new freezer for the house! It's one of the smallest we could find in the store - 12 cf. I'm super excited, because now I can stash away more of my own produce instead of giving it all away.  Our fridge with a side freezer was overstuffed, so I moved some of the frozen beans, carrots, squash and peas into the new one today.
Now I can chop all those lovely peppers and more green beans from the fridge and move them into the freezer. And once the fall garden starts I hope that we'll have enough spinach to freeze for winter as well.

    1. I'm sure all space will be used on this one. Wish we could get bigger size but there wasn't any place to put other than hide in a utility closet so we were restricted on width - 28 inches only.

    1. I would have taken a large one but we just don't have space where to put it so it won't stick out like a sore thumb. for now small will have to do, but yes, it's filling up very fast!

  3. You'll have that freezer full in no time! We have two side by sides and one chest freezer. All of them get filled from the garden!

    1. Oh it's filling up very fast already! Because we didn't have enough space I've been giving alot of veggies away this summer so the fall harvest will go to the freezer this time. Hopefully it will feed us through winter.

  4. You will love having a freezer to store your garden harvests. I don't think mine has been completely empty since we bought it.

  5. With amazing harvest totals like yours, I'm betting there's yet another freezer in your future! We have two just like yours, They'll be back-to-back full by December. That does include bulk chicken and beef. Still, I'll bet you fill that thing in no time and then wonder how you got along without it.

    1. I hope you're right, having two full freezers would be wonderful. For now I need to find good sale for meat and fish, and keep planting fall garden :)
