First May Harvest

Finally warm enough that the garden really started growing - asparagus took off and salads are happy. Brassicas seedlings (wave 3 as we lost all others to heavy frost) were transplanted once again and looks like they are doing well. And everything is in bloom! My cherry trees got battered by 3 days of rain storms, but I still hope they'll produce. Apple trees, peach and nectarine - all in bloom. Loving it. And of course I had my fresh greens for dinner - it really doesn't get better than that.

    1. I'm in green-withdrawal mood now but hopefully in couple of weeks it will be cured once I get my daily "fix" :)

  2. Nice harvest. I was sad not to be able to take my asparagus crowns with me when we moved from our old house. Makes me a bit sad to think that they should be producing really well be now.

    1. I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to get your plants with you. It's one thing that I already told my husband - if we move, my garden plants all moving with us. :)

  4. One of my peach trees is in full bloom right now too. The other one is always later. And one apple tree is just starting to bud up. I'm anticipating a lot of fruit. I can always hope.

  5. We're enjoying the blooms but will strip them as it's only 2nd year planted so want it to grow better roots instead. But I'm looking forward to apples and cherries if animals will let me have any :)

  6. Must be so nice to have a harvest! Our weather has been so darn cold and wet that I just started transplanting/sowing in the last couple of weeks.

    1. We're on frost advisory for today as well and it's been very cold this year. My harvest is only here because I covered bed with plastic trying to get something earlier. :( So far two waves of transplants that I set in open all died from temps dipping to 24F.
