Harvest August 18

Harvest this week has been very small outside of tomatoes. Few banana peppers, two pickings of small onions for cooking, first ear of corn to see if it's any good, two tiny cucumbers and tomatoes - some went to salads, some into sauces and a large quantity given away at work and to the community kitchen.

    2. How do you keep track of all the varieties? You must be a very organized person.

    3. I made label for each seedling in spring so I knew what I planted and where :)

  3. Just when I think I've seen as many tomatoes as one could possibly harvest in a week, I come here and see even more! Your tomatoes always blow me away!

    1. THanks, but if you look at the same week last year you'll see the difference in quantities of veggies.

  4. Beautiful harvest of tomatoes. I like your choice of varieties. I only have room for 14 plants so I'm a bit limited in my choices.

    1. Don't feel too bad, many of these I won't be planting second time either. Next year I'll concentrante on tried-and-true to my taste that I really love.

  6. Wow, that's a LOT of tomatoes! 35 varieties! Lots of beauties in there. I'm still waiting for my tomatoes to really start coming in, the seasons are a bit skewed here. I always used to let my husband talk me into growing too many tomatoes, but I've held my ground in recent years and pared the tomato planting down by half and it's still more than enough. There's a few favorites that I grow almost every year, but I generally throw one or two new varieties into the mix too.

    1. I think next year I will do the same - keep my favorites only for eating fresh and not plant anything for canning.

    1. My hubby ate it, it was still on "milky" side supertender but he said tasted good. We only have a few formed this year so will probably pick in a week or so.
