Squash and cucumbers

Previous post showed first half of the week harvest and today was second half - zucchini, squash, and alot of cucumbers.
Nearly 9 lbs o cucumbers  - 8 lbs 13.9 oz total; and 7 lbs and 9.9 oz of zucchini and squash combined. I let some of them get overgrown because these were destined to my group at KISS cat rescue and those ladies like to use zucchini for bread and stuffers. Cucumbers also went to the same group.

    1. it's very hot and dry here for past 3 weeks so I've been watering everything twice a day to keep them from dying off.

  3. Beautiful harvest of cucumbers! Will you be keeping later harvests and making pickles for yourself?

  4. Nice pile of cucumbers, about the right amount for a weeks worth of eating. We're still waiting for our first. It's been hot but for some reason this year the cukes are taking their time growing.

    1. We really don't use that many - maybe 4-5 a week. I just planted too many this time around.

  6. So jealous of your cucumbers!!! Mine are not doing well at all. I need to make some bread and butter pickles for the winter.

  7. That is a lot of cucurbits. I finally had enough to make pickles today. I was so happy. Now I have three more sets of pickles that need to be made, but one is the refrigerator pickles so those can come in slowly if they want.

    1. Your looked very nice and small that are perfect for pickles. I had mine as "pickle bush" but they are much larger than I hoped for. Do you have a good recipe for dill pickles by any chance? Something that doesn't taste like pure vinegar.

  8. Looking very good! We are still a week or so away from out first cucumbers. I never thought I'd ever say these words but I'm jealous of your zucchini. We lost our two plants to bacterial wilt this year so no zucchini for us this year unless we buy some from the farmers market.

    1. I wish you could have my zucchini because more are on the way. I planted several plants in waves thinking that I might get 1-2 before SBB hits it but they're fully producing and new wave is getting close to produce as well so I should have Romanesca soon.
