More July harvests

I just love this time of the year. Harvest is daily and variety just keeps on coming. Here's few shots of the first part of the week starting with Monday night harvest first - beans, cucumbers, carrots, onions, basil, mint, swiss chard and kale, hot banana pepper and yellow squash. You can see numbers yourself if you click on each picture to make it larger :)
Then came Tuesday harvest and I digged out 3 bushes of white potatoes for mash so I can make pirogi for hubby for next week while I'm on the road. Also first yellow pear tomatoes were picked, one Roma and few beets and cucumbers. I added a picture of one potato on my hand just for kicks ;)
And lastly today's  harvest was more beans, over 1.5 lbs of peas, squash, zucchini, broccoli and more cucumbers.
Be careful of what you wish for you or you might run out of space in the fridge like me. I've been giving stuff away left and right, freezer also full so I think I'll start canning some of these goodies.
edit: some pictures were removed to have space for new.

  1. Wow!!! Everything looks great! This time of year is the best. Today was my first day of really getting a good variety. Looking at your lot has made me want to try a few things next year. I have never tried beet so I might have to do that next year.

    I love your blog!

  2. Oh, Jenny, we did it again! I won't be showing mine until Monday's post, but I went out and dug 10.5 pounds of potatoes tonight, and took a picture of one in my hand, just like you did! Your harvest is much more varied than mine, good job!

    1. Oops, I dug 7.8 pounds (10.5 included Monday's), so we had almost identical potato harvests :-)

    2. I guess it's potato time for everyone, though it's much sooner than usual for me so I'm planting something on it's place that I wasn't going to do before - corn! Hope it still has enough time to grow :)

    1. Yes, it's a big for such young potato. Can't wait to see how my other potatoes will come out. I haven't touched Yukon or Fingerlings so far. And I just tossed 5 more old potatoes that were sitting in the garage back into the soil so we'll see if they'll grow and produce.

  4. Wow nice harvest! All those cucumbers look like jars of yummy dill pickles to me :O) You can juice up a ton of produce :O) and drink it! Those carrots and cucumbers and beets and greens yummy! Megga good for you and make some space in that fridge :O). Love those red carrots! I need to plant some of those I think. Very pretty!

    1. Thank you, I will try to make some pickles tomorrow before leaving so they don't go bad. Unfortunately I don't like "juicing" so I tend to eat my veggies just as they are - raw. Red carrots are Purple Dragon variety.

    1. It would be really nice to have rain every couple of days so I won't have to water each night :) some parts of the garden are doing good and some are lagging behind.
