Mid-July harvest in pictures

This week harvest in pictures. Some veggies had to be tossed away because they were overgrown.

These were picked early Saturday morning last week, but did not make into last post.

    1. As much as I hate throw things away there's no reason to keep something that can't be eaten.

  2. It's always a shame when things keep growing even when we don't have the time to deal with them. You've got some great harvests!

    1. I love variety! This summer everything is off but that's what makes it interesting.

    1. They are very good, especially my favorite purple and black varieties. I do like the black zebra stripes but taste is average. Makes it for a very colorful salad. There are over 25 varieties planted but I'm not sure of all of them.

  7. Nice diversity and alot of production this week! Sorry you lost some of the harvest bounty but sometimes when you are away that can happen. I lost all of my fall broccoli crop last year because I was traveling and they (unfortunately) all wanted to be harvested at the same time - just as I was away. (sigh)

    1. That is unfortunate for sure. I have another trip coming up in fall so I hope it won't affect harvest.

  9. Just a couple of things then? he he he. In all seriousness though I am particularly jealous of all those beautiful tomatoes - oh what I'd do for a nice home grown tomato right now...

    1. That I have to agree - the heirlooms right off the vine are fabulous. Wish you could try Black Krim (the one that was measured separately with green shoulders) - with a slice of fresh mozzarela and a basil leaf - YUM!

    1. Percious! It's so good to see you back online again. Wish you lived closer so I could share some of the harvest but being in the middle of nowhere does not help. As you can see I'm still running the self-challenge via my garden and healthy eating. While we still have to buy seafood and meat it really helps cut the cost of shoping when you go pick your meal each night just outside your door. I hope you'll stop by more often and see more pictures and I'll keep checking your site from time to time :)

  12. It's coming in strong for you now! You've got a great variety of produce to enjoy. I'm particularly envious of your peas. We're hoping to have some before the season's over. We'll have to see.
